La Asociaci\u00f3n Defensores de la Democracia Contra el Terrorismo<\/u><\/b><\/div>
Es una asociaci\u00f3n civil de car\u00e1cter educativo y cultural, aut\u00f3noma e independiente, sin fines de lucro, constituida por Oficiales Generales del Ej\u00e9rcito del Per\u00fa en situaci\u00f3n de retiro, que tuvieron participaci\u00f3n en la lucha contra el terrorismo en zonas declaradas en Estado de Emergencia. As\u00ed como por civiles y militares que, previa calificaci\u00f3n, deseen asociarse. La Asociaci\u00f3n declara no tener filiaci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica ni religiosa alguna.<\/div>

Fines:<\/b> <\/u><\/p>

Promover la participaci\u00f3n activa y conciente de toda las naci\u00f3n peruana en la lucha contra el terrorismo a fin de garantizar la paz, la libertad y el estado de derecho, respetando los derechos humanos en concordancia con la Constituci\u00f3n Pol\u00edtica de la Rep\u00fablica del Per\u00fa y normas vigentes.<\/div>
Promover la cooperaci\u00f3n cultural y social como un medio eficaz para contribuir al mantenimiento de la paz, el desarrollo nacional y fortalecimiento de la democracia.<\/div>

Objetivos:<\/b><\/u><\/p>

Crear conciencia en la poblaci\u00f3n que la lucha contra el terrorismo es tarea de todos los peruanos, para consolidar la pacificaci\u00f3n nacional y la vigencia de los derechos humanos.<\/p>

* Promover el reconocimiento de la sociedad respecto a la participaci\u00f3n de las Fuerzas Armadas, Polic\u00eda Nacional y Comit\u00e9s de Autodefensa en la lucha contra el terrorismo en cumplimiento de su misi\u00f3n.
* Opinar sobre temas relacionadas con el accionar terrorista nacional e internacional.
*Promover y realizar acciones de apoyo a las Instituciones con responsabilidad directa en la lucha contra el terrorismo.
*Honrar la memoria de las victimas del terrorismo y m\u00e1rtires de la democracia.
*Promover el conocimiento de los principios ideol\u00f3gicos, pol\u00edticos, psicosociales y violentistas de los grupos subversivos que pretenden destruir la democracia.
*Promover y realizar proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n y capacitaci\u00f3n a nivel nacional e internacional relacionadas con la lucha contra el terrorismo. *Promover el intercambio de experiencias sobre la lucha contra el terrorismo.
*Promover proyectos de inversi\u00f3n orientados a superar las contradicciones sociales existentes.
*Opinar sobre temas de inter\u00e9s nacional.
*Promover el fortalecimiento de las relaciones civil-militares.<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

OMISSION OF THE TRUTH \u2026.and reconciliation?<\/h3>

PERU 1980 \u2013 2000<\/h3>

The violence which afflicted the country between 1980 and 2000 was started by Shining Path, a terrorist group which attacked the Peruvian state and its people with the object of imposing a government after the style of Pol Pot which, after murdering more than one million Peruvians, as it repeated on many occasions, would create a Maoist communist society.<\/p>

ADDCOT believes that maintaining silence is equivalent to supporting the imputations of the CTR which, with the passage of time, may be transmuted into \u2018truths\u2019 as has happened in Peru so many times during its history. For ADDCOT this is the beginning of a battle for the truth which will unfold in the future, when historians and other social scientists calmly and objectively, and distanced from current-day ideological tendencies, establish a version of the truth much closer to the real facts. The Association for the Defence of Democracy against Terrorism invites all Peruvians to express an opinion on this response. It is our belief that dialogue and discussion will be successful in making the truth known.<\/p>
